The cottage has been expertly renovated by local Artisans
in 2004, and ensures that guests can enjoy the best of modern conveniences whilst
at the same time enjoying a wealth of traditional features.
On entering the house you step into the spacious
Dining
Room. The original beam, stone walls and fireplace provide a homely
setting in which to dine, entertain or relax.
The adjacent Kitchen is
fully equipped, with oven hob, microwave, freezer and fridge, along with the
appliances and utensils you will need during your stay.
From the kitchen you can access the magnificent stone walled
and vaulted Cellar which we have
transformed into a dramatic and unique banqueting hall and games room.
Retracing your steps back up the illuminated cellar stairway
and kitchen you enter into the
Garden
Room. From here the elevated staircase and doorway opens onto the Walled
Garden, allowing you to relax over breakfast or with a drink while you
savour
scents and views of the French country garden.
Adjoining the garden room is the
Sitting
Room, which with its exposed timbered ceiling beams, stone walls and log
fireplace, offers the ideal setting in which to relax and unwind.
Upstairs three individually designed bedrooms provide ample accommodation
for five people. The main feature of the sleeping accommodation is the
splendid Master Bedroom complete
with its Louis XIVth bed and private access to its own modern
En-suite
Bathroom. A double wardrobe and dressing table compliment the decor
perfectly, whilst the original fireplace adds to the charm.
The Single Bedroom
has ample storage space, and in addition to the single bed, a child's cot is
available and fits comfortably within the room.
Finally having passed the
Family
Bathroom on the right of the landing you enter into the
Twin
Bedroom. A double wardrobe, four drawer chest and bedside cabinets
with lamps make this room ideal for children and adults alike.
Outside, the sheltered and private Walled Garden acts as a true sun trap, whilst still offering ample shade
throughout the hot days and balmy evenings. There is also a patio with seating and
barbecue (with an original outdoor chimney), along with a
gravelled garden
area,
shrubs and flowers.
